The manufacturing process for plasma-derived products is called “fractionation”. During the fractionation process, proteins in the plasma are separated according to product type. Fractionation involved purification methods such as precipitation, centrifugation, separation and filtration. All China-manufactured plasma products are manufactured at facilities approved but the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA).
China Biologic employs advanced plasma fractionation techniques that separate albumin, immunoglobulins (Igs) and coagulation factors. The Company employs a variety of virus inactivation and removal procedures, including virus filtration, pasteurization, solvent/detergent treatment, terminal dry-heat treatment and terminal low pH incubation.
China Biologic implements stringent safety and quality standards, alongside state-of-the-art screening and viral removal/inactivation systems to ensure that all plasma products can be used with confidence.
